Proof of claim
A form used by a creditor to indicate the amount it is owed by a debtor when the debtor files for bankruptcy. The claim protects the creditor’s right to be repaid by the debtor in the bankruptcy case. The proof of claim form is filed in the same bankruptcy court in which the case is filed.
