Credit Card Glossary: Terms and Definitions
Evergreen clause
An evergreen clause is one used in contracts to make an agreement automatically renew. Evergreen clauses are commonly used in subscriptions and service contracts, sometimes hidden in confusingly worded fine print. Consumers who give out their credit card information initially to a vendor may find they have difficulty turning off automatic renewals.
