Credit monitoring service
A credit monitoring service is one that monitors credit card accounts for suspicious or out-of-pattern activity and sends an alert to the cardholder if such activities occur. Typically there is an annual or monthly fee for the service billed to the primary card being monitored. Some consumers may get a credit monitoring service for free, as an inducement to purchase other services, or in cases where a consumer’s credit data has been illegally breached.
