2. Fly with a oneworld alliance airline
The easiest way to earn British Airways Avios is to take a qualifying flight – either with British Airways or any oneworld alliance partner. Each time you fly, you’ll earn a minimum of 125 Avios.
Earning Avios on a flight is a bit complicated. Rewards are calculated by distance and fare class. Here’s a quick look at what you can earn on a British Airways flight.

There are a few different ways to book a hotel stay that earns Avios – including the British Airways hotel booking platform. It includes more than 7,500 properties in destinations across Europe. Alternatively, you can book with a partner hotel or booking site by entering your British Airways Executive Club credentials when you check out or visiting through a special link. 5. Book a vacation package
If you are the kind of traveler who prefers to book your flight and hotel stay all together, British Airways offers a holiday finder with plenty of vacation package options. There are several kinds of trips available, including fly-drive, multi-city and villa vacations. Any package you book through the platform also earns 1 Avios per dollar.
6. Buy a Heathrow Express ticket
If you’ve every traveled to London, you might have taken the Heathrow Express to quickly get to the middle of the city from the airport. For Executive Club members who book their ticket in advance (rather than on the train or at the airport), British Airways offers a generous 10 Avios per dollar.
7. Park with ParkCloud
ParkCloud is a network of airport and hotel parking lots across the U.K. If you book through the British Airways link, you can earn anywhere from 3 to 5 Avios per pound on your parking.

British Airways offers bonus points for Executive Club members who purchase a subscription to either the Financial Times or The Economist. Members earn up to 4,400 Avios for Economist subscriptions and up to 10,000 Avios for a Financial Times subscription.
10. Purchase Avios
While it is not the best option for most Executive Club members, British Airways does allow the purchase of Avios. If you need to top off an Avios balance in a pinch, you can purchase up to 35,000 Avios in a calendar year. Just keep in mind that you might end up paying more than they are worth – depending on the flight deal you find.

For American Express Membership Rewards cardholders, transferring points to British Airways Executive Club is simple. If you need to boost your Avios balance for a reward flight, your Membership Rewards points can be transferred in increments of 1000 at a 1:1 rate.
