Chase cardholders now can use Chase Pay at more than 7,500 company-operated Starbucks and approximately 1,400 Best Buy locations.
Chase cardholders now can use Chase Pay at more than 7,500 Starbucks locations and approximately 1,400 Best Buy stores. A broader rollout with additional merchants is planned in 2017 and beyond.

While Chase Visa consumer credit and debit cards and Chase Liquid cards can be loaded to the Chase Pay app, Chase business credit and debit cards and Mastercard cards currently cannot.
Once Chase Pay is set up, a cardholder can pay for items using quick response (QR) codes at select Starbucks locations in the U.S. and at Best Buy stores.
A Chase Pay user can also reload his or her Starbucks Card in the Starbucks mobile app for iPhone or online at Starbucks.com.
Additionally, customers can use the app to check Chase account balances and available credit, as well as view transactions from the past 90 days.
Designed with consumers and merchants in mind
In addition to aiming to provide consumers with a convenient and seamless payment experience, Chase hopes to offer merchants a better alternative to competitive payment services, such as Citi Pay and Apple Pay.
“Chase Pay is special because it’s the first digital solution that benefits both consumers and merchants,” Jennifer Roberts, president of strategic alliances and loyalty solutions for Chase, said in a press release. “By focusing on merchant needs first — lower cost, zero fraud liability — we’ve got a real opportunity to break through the mobile payments noise.”
More merchants soon to accept Chase Pay
Chase Pay is available for use only at select Starbucks and Best Buy locations; but there are plans for a larger rollout in 2017 to other merchants, including Walmart, ShopRite, The Fresh Grocer, Phillips 66, Conoco, 76 and Shell.
