In addition to offering unlimited 1.5 percent cash back on every purchase, the new Ink Business Unlimited card gives members a $500 cash back bonus after spending $3,000 in the first three months.
Chase has launched a new, flat-rate cash back card for business owners – the Ink Business Unlimited. In addition to offering unlimited 1.5 percent cash back on every purchase, the card gives members a $500 cash back bonus after spending $3,000 in the first three months.
A straightforward rewards structure
Similar to the Chase Freedom Unlimited card – but for business owners – the Ink Business Unlimited card is designed to provide an uncomplicated approach to earning rewards. Since cardholders earn 1.5 percent cash back on everything they buy, there’s no need to keep track of earning caps or enroll in rotating categories each quarter.
Jeff Hoffman, general manager of Chase Ink, explains that the new card provides small business owners, with “a tool that helps manage cash flow and expenses, in a straightforward way that matches their working style.”

As you can see, the Ink Business Unlimited and the Ink Business Cash cards are very similar cards, but with different rewards structures: The Ink Business Cash card offers a cash back bonus of up to 5 percent on certain spending categories, while the Ink Business Unlimited card offers 1.5 percent back on every purchase. However, we estimate that the average small business owner, who spends $48,000 per year, can get nearly the same amount of cash back with either card.
So basically, it comes down to what you’re looking for in a card. If you are a business owner who spends a large amount of money on internet, cable, phone services and office supplies each year, the Ink Cash Business card may be your best bet. But if you want to earn the same rate on every purchase and not have to keep track of spending categories, the Ink Business Unlimited may be the right card for you.
