Chase has launched a new premium checking account known as Sapphire Banking. The account, which waives the $25-monthly fee if you maintain an account balance of $75,000 or more, offers the following perks:
- No ATM fees worldwide
- No wire transfer fees or stop payment fees
- No fees on the first four overdrafts within 12 months
- No fees for foreign exchange rate adjustments on ATM withdrawals or debit card purchases made abroad
- Free online stock and ETF trades with You Invest by J.P. Morgan
According to CEO of You Invest by J.P. Morgan, Jed Laskowitz, the Sapphire Banking “account is a real example of how we’re rewarding our customers for their relationship.”
60,000 bonus points
Chase has unveiled an exclusive offer that gives Chase Sapphire Reserve® and Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card members – who open or upgrade to a Sapphire Banking account and make $75,000 in qualifying deposits and investments – 60,000 bonus points. Cardholders can apply for the 60,000-point offer in-branch starting Oct. 1, 2018, and online starting Oct. 15, 2018.
There’s no doubt that depositing $75,000 into a bank account may seem inconceivable to many people. But if you can afford it, you have the potential to squeeze more value out of your card. We estimate each Ultimate Rewards point to be worth between 1.25 and 1.5 cents, depending on which Sapphire card you own, making the 60,000-point bonus worth up to $900. Combine the banking bonus with the cards’ 50,000-point sign-up bonus, and you have the potential to earn 110,000 bonus points – for a value up to $1,650.
