Why use it?If you want to earn a large influx of rewards in a short period of time to use toward free travel, the Arrival Plus card is a great option. Along with a 70,000-mile sign-up bonus, the card offers a 2-mile bonus on every purchase.Read review | Estimated Yearly Rewards Value ($15,900 spend) $508 |
Annual Fee $89, waived first year |
In addition to offering a generous sign-up bonus and rewards rate, the Arrival Plus card doesn’t charge an annual fee the first year – allowing cardholders to squeeze a lot of value from the card, especially during the first year. Because each Arrival Plus mile is worth approximately 1 cent, we estimate that the average consumer who spends $15,900 annually on food, gas, clothing and general purchases can get more than $1,000 in rewards value from the card in the first year alone.
First year rewards value ($15,900 spend)

Best ways to use 70,000 bonus miles
Barclays offers cardholders several options for redeeming miles, including cash back, gift cards and merchandise. However, if you want to get the most value from your miles, we recommend that you redeem them for travel statement credits. Each time you redeem a travel purchase for a statement credit, you will receive 5-percent miles back to use toward your next redemption. For example, if you redeem the 70,000-mile bonus for a travel statement credit, you will receive 3,500 additional bonus miles to use toward your next redemption.
With the 5-percent boost, each mile is worth 1.05 cents – bringing the value of the sign-up bonus to $735 when redeemed for travel statement credits.
