The distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine has brought hope that the world will finally be back to normal soon. President Biden promised vaccine eligibility to all adults by May 1, 2021, and a return to a certain degree of normalcy by July 4.

The main goal for many now is to make the vaccine as accessible as possible. Businesses and consumers alike can do their part to help the process.

For example, Lyft has launched a campaign called “Vaccine Access” to help provide rides to and from vaccine appointments. Lyft users can “fund a ride” to help Lyft with this initiative.

On March 16, 2021, Chase, Hilton and Delta Air Lines joined the campaign and will reward their cardholders and rewards program members for funding rides. This can be a great opportunity to contribute to a fantastic cause and earn rewards for doing so.

Earn Chase Ultimate Rewards and statement credits for funding rides

Chase cardholders with cards that earn Ultimate Rewards can earn 10 total points per dollar or 10% cash back on purchases made through the “Fund a Ride” program through March 2022.

Additionally, eligible cardmembers will be able to use the Pay Yourself Back feature to receive a statement credit for a ride (or a portion of it) purchased through Lyft’s new program. The qualifying dates for this offer haven’t been announced yet, but according to the announcement from Lyft, the promotion will become available in the next few weeks.

Get Hilton Honors points and Delta miles

Hilton and Delta are also offering incentives to their members to support the Vaccine Access campaign.

Through May 31, 2021, Hilton Honors members can get 2,000 Hilton Honors points when they link their Hilton Honors and Lyft accounts and contribute at least $5 to the fund. On top of that, Hilton will match the first $50,000 in contributions dollar-to-dollar.

Delta will award 250 bonus miles to the first 15,000 Delta SkyMiles members with linked Lyft accounts who donate at least $5 to the fund through May 31, 2021.

The bonus points will be deposited automatically.

Should you donate?

It’s always a personal decision how you support any cause you’re passionate about. Still, helping people get to their vaccine appointments could be a great opportunity to do a lot of good in these difficult times and help ensure they pass sooner rather than later.

Earning rewards while doing that is certainly a nice bonus too.
