As the COVID-19 pandemic is keeping people in their homes, ordering in has become a new normal for many. Having a card that offers rewards on food delivery orders can be especially beneficial during this unusual time.

Chase Sapphire and Freedom credit card holders can now take advantage of even a better deal than their cards normally offer. Chase is launching a special offer that allows its consumers to earn extra rewards on DoorDash and Tock orders until May 31, 2020.

How much will cardholders earn with the new offer?

Chase Sapphire Reserve and Chase Sapphire Preferred card users can now earn 5 total points per dollar when ordering in with DoorDash and Tock on up to $500 in combined purchases. Similarly, Chase Freedom*, Chase Freedom Student* and Chase Freedom Unlimited* cardholders can earn 5% total cash back when using these services.

The rewards rate is automatic when using an eligible card.

“As part of Chase’s relationships with both DoorDash and Tock, we are working together to offer some added value when ordering through either platform from the restaurants in your community,” the issuer said in a statement, adding that it’s also a way to say thank you for supporting cardholders’ favorite restaurants during this time.

Limited-time offer part of a new suite of delivery perks

If you were a frequent restaurant-goer before businesses closed their doors amid the outbreak, you may find yourself ordering in often. If that’s the case, the new Chase offer can be an excellent deal for you. Extra points and cash back combined with the existing perks for DoorDash users make any eligible Chase card a useful tool for saving money on restaurant deliveries.

Currently, cardholders can also activate a complimentary DashPass membership – a subscription service from DoorDash providing deliveries with a $0 delivery fee and lower service fees on eligible orders over $12. Chase Sapphire cardholders can get at least 12 months of this service when they activate the offer before Dec. 31, 2021. Those with the Chase Freedom or Freedom Unlimited card get three months of complimentary DashPass when they activate the subscription before Dec. 31, 2021. After the first 3 months, the subscription automatically renews for another nine months at half off.
