Student Credit Cards Interview with WBZ Radio Boston

Mary Blake: As another college semester begins there is a new study out on campus credit cards. Matt Schulz, Senior Industry Analyst at, says there is some encouraging news to report this fall.

Matt Schulz: What we found surprised us because student credit cards for a long time have had a bad rap of having high interest rates, not a lot of rewards. But things have really changed for the better and today’s student cards have pretty good rates, decent rewards, and even come with some tools to help students handle their credit.

Blake: is a credit card comparison website. Schulz saying nine out of the 11 campus cards scrutinized offered rewards. The most common – cash back on groceries, gas, and restaurants. His overall advice? Shop around.
