Money Worries Interview with Bloomberg Radio

By Media Relations Senior Industry Analyst Matt Schulz spoke on Saturday, June 27, 2015, with Jeff Bellinger of Bloomberg Radio about the results of the June 2015 Money Worries survey. The interview and transcript are below.

Jeff Bellinger: It’s not just your physical health that can cause sleeplessness. Nearly two-thirds of the people surveyed by say worries over their fiscal health are keeping them awake at night. Matt Schulz is the organization’s Senior Industry Analyst. Retirement is the biggest concern, but it may not be for long.

Matt Schulz: The biggest change that we’ve seen over the past 8 years has been the steady increase in the number of people losing sleep over education costs. This could end up becoming Americans biggest worry.

Bellinger: If the higher education leads to a better job, it could mean more restful nights in the future.

Schulz: The highest income folks that we spoke with were the least likely to have lost sleep.

Bellinger: Schulz says taking action could be the key to less tossing and turning.

Schulz: People tend to lose sleep when things feel out of their control. Do any small thing that you can do to help you feel like you’ve got a little more control.
