Business rewards cards come in all shapes and sizes, so it can be easy to find a rewards rate that meets your spending patterns. Whether you want to earn rewards on gas, dining or travel purchases, there is a card for you.

Choosing a business rewards card based on earning can be easy, as you can clearly see whether the rewards you can earn justify an annual fee. However, some business cards come with extra perks that have significant value – and might have flown under your radar. To ensure you are getting the most out of your business rewards card, consider the added value of these extras and how they align with your business needs. You might be surprised at which card is best for you.

Here’s a quick look at some of the most valuable business card benefits currently offered.

Office access and technology credits: The Business Platinum Card from American Express

The Business Platinum® Card from American Express recently underwent a facelift, adding several new benefits for cardholders. Unfortunately, the annual fee also went up – from $450 to $595.

One new and valuable addition to the card is called Platinum Global Access. It allows cardholders free access to WeWork offices around the world for a year (must enroll for the benefit between 2/15/19 and 12/31/19). American Express values this benefit at $2,700, and it is a huge perk for small business owners who don’t currently have access to an office or meeting space.

The updated card also offers up to $200 in statement credits for any Dell technology purchase, to help you buy the tools you need to bring to your new office space.

In addition to the new perks, the Business Platinum card will continue to offer airport lounge access (for a cardholder and two guests), a $200 travel credit for fees (such as baggage and airline fees) and an $85 TSA PreCheck credit.

While the new annual fee on the Business Platinum card is high, cardholders who take advantage of the card’s additional perks can get more than $3,000 in value in the first year – in addition to the rewards you can earn.

Extra travel credits for heavy spenders: The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card

Going above and beyond travel credits offered by other business rewards cards, The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card offers several extra perks for frequent travelers.

On top of a large introductory bonus, the Hilton Honors Business card awards users a free weekend night reward if you spend $15,000 in a calendar year. Any year you manage to spend an additional $45,000 (for $60,000 total spend) you get a second free night. When used strategically, these awards can be worth more than $500 a-piece.

Hilton Honors Business cardholders are also automatically awarded Gold status with the hotel’s loyalty program, which includes a fifth night free on any rewards stay. If you regularly travel for long periods, this can equal significant savings.

In addition to hotel benefits, the Hilton Honors Business card comes with 10 free Priority Pass lounge visits at hundreds of airports around the world. If you were to buy a 10-visit Priority Pass membership for yourself, it would cost you $299 per year.

Though the savings from extra perks on the Hilton Honors Business card are not quite as impressive as the Business Platinum, they extend beyond the first year of membership. Plus, the card has a lower annual fee.

Bottom line

No matter what business reward card works best for you, don’t overlook the added value of extra perks when choosing your card. You can glean thousands of dollars in additional savings by finding a card with benefits that match your business needs.
