U.S. Bank has partnered with Mexico City-based AeroMexico to offer a frequent flier program through the AeroMexico Visa and AeroMexico Visa Signature credit card.

According to a press release from U.S. Bank, customers can earn one AeroMexico Club Premier Mile for every $1 purchase made with the new card. Miles can be redeemed for travel to more than 40 Mexican locations, as well as other cities in the airline’s flight network, such as Madrid, Paris, Rome and Tokyo.

Cardholders will also be automatically signed up for Club Premier, the airline’s frequent flier program, which gives its members free upgrades and access to AeroMexico’s Salon Premier airport lounges.

“The new AeroMexico Visa Card brings the airline’s mileage rewards program to a new U.S.-based audience with significant growth opportunities in key markets,” said Pat Coll, executive vice president of U.S. Bank Retail Payment Solutions.

New AeroMexico Visa cardholders can get on the fast track to award travel with up to 20,000 bonus miles (for AeroMexico Visa Signature cardholders) and a complimentary companion ticket upon enrollment as well as discounted Web airfare purchases and double miles on AeroMexico ticket purchases using the card.

U.S. Bank has several partnerships with other frequent flier programs. The bank also provides card services for more than 80 other airlines around the world through its subsidiary company Elavon.
