And according to a new survey from PayPal, we mean anywhere.
Americans, especially the millennial generation, are taking full advantage of the mobility. PayPal surveyed 1,000 adult Americans on whether they would shop for holiday gifts this year in a variety of situations. It found half saying they would shop while binge-watching TV, with even more millennials (59 percent) saying they would simultaneously watch and shop.
It also found that roughly a third of Americans could imagine making some holiday purchases while sitting at the Thanksgiving dinner table (35 percent), while in bed, for their partner or spouse lying next to them (34 percent), or while enjoying an adult beverage (29 percent).
Perhaps most candidly, more than 1 in 5 Americans (22 percent) said they would do some holiday shopping while on the toilet, which is up from 15 percent two years ago. Again, a higher percentage of millennials (34 percent) would accommodate their shopping needs on the john.
PayPal’s survey was conducted by Koski Research in October 2016. Administered online, the survey polled 1,000 Americans planning to celebrate the holidays this season.
