Mastercard is currently offering “A Home for the Holidays” in its latest sweepstakes.  From Nov. 1 to Dec. 31, 2006, the credit card issuer is giving consumers the chance to win a home — with two houses up for grabs this year.

Mastercard makes contest entry as simple as swiping a credit card.  Each time a consumer uses his or her Mastercard from now until the end of the year, he or she will be automatically entered for a chance to win a $350,000 one-time payment that can be used toward a new house.

Some credit card and debit card purchases offer even more opportunities to win.  Mastercard users automatically get double contest entries for each tap purchase made with a Mastercard PayPass at a PayPass enabled merchant, or for each purchase made with a Mastercard at a participating Best Buy store in the U.S. or at

The more cardholders use their Mastercard before the end of 2006, the more contest entries they will get, since during the promotion there are an unlimited number of Mastercard purchase-based entries permitted.  However, PIN-based and international transactions are not eligible for automatic entry in the contest.

Meanwhile, with no purchase necessary, even those consumers without a Mastercard can enter.  They can simply visit to fill out and submit an online entry form — with one entry per person allowed during each day of the promotion.  Entries by mail are also permitted.

If you don’t already have a Mastercard, apply online at today.  That way, all your eligible credit card and debit card spending before then end of ’06 could mean winning “A Home for the Holidays” — a great present for you and your family!
