The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless™ Credit Card has joined the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant™ American Express® Card and Marriott Bonvoy Business™ American Express® Card in offering 100,000-point introductory bonuses. Staring Feb. 28, new Bonvoy Boundless cardholders will earn 100,000 bonus points when they spend $5,000 in the first three months of card membership. Chase has not yet specified when the limited time-offer is scheduled to end.

Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant™ American Express and Marriott Bonvoy Business™ American Express® Card members who apply between Feb. 13 and April 24 will continue to receive 100,000 points when they spend $5,000 in the first three months.

If you’re a fan of Marriott, Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) or The Ritz-Carlton hotels, Marriott Bonvoy credit cards offer an excellent opportunity to earn a large influx of rewards in a short period of time that can be leveraged for free hotel stays.

The increased introductory bonuses follow the launch of the updated Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program on Feb. 13, which included several card changes, including new card names and new card art.

Comparing Marriott Bonvoy cards

Along with the introductory bonuses, the updated Marriott Bonvoy cards share several similarities, including a 6-point bonus on Marriott Bonvoy hotel purchases and a 2-point bonus on general purchases. The Brilliant and Business cards, however, offer bonus points on additional categories, including U.S. restaurants.

Although the Brilliant card has the highest annual fee among these cards, the value you can squeeze out of the card’s rewards in the first year more than makes up for it. Plus, the 3-point bonus at U.S. restaurants and on flights booked directly with airlines is an ideal perk for cardholders who travel and dine out frequently.

The Boundless card, on the other hand, does not offer a bonus rate on dining or flights; however, the average consumer can get close to $1,000 in rewards value from the card during the first year of card membership. The Boundless card is also a great option for those who want to take advantage of Marriott perks but don’t want to spend $450 on annual fees, since the card only charges $95 each year.

Recent changes to the Marriott Bonvoy cards

All three Marriott Bonvoy cards currently offer 100,000-point bonuses after $5,000 spend in the first three months of card membership. The Bonvoy Brilliant and Bonvoy Business cards increased their bonuses by 25,000 points on Feb. 13, and the Bonvoy Boundless card increased its bonus on Feb. 28.

Best way to use 100,000 Marriott Bonvoy points

The 100,000-point introductory bonus can go a long way with the Marriott Bonvoy cards. In addition to hotel nights and room upgrades, cardholders can redeem points for Cash + Points, travel packages, car rentals, experiences, charity and more.

We estimate each Marriott Bonvoy point to be worth 0.8 cent – but this value can vary depending on how you redeem your rewards. For example, each point is worth 0.8 cent when redeemed for standard hotel rooms, but worth only 0.4 cent when redeemed for merchandise.

Redemption optionsAverage point valueValue of 100,000-point value

To get the most value from your points, we recommend redeeming them for standard hotel rooms. The 100,000-point bonus can get you up to 13 nights at a category 1 property, such as Aloft, or 1 night at a category 8 property, such as The Ritz-Carlton New York. Plus, each time you redeem points for four consecutive nights, you’ll get the fifth consecutive night for free.
