General Hospital: ABC/Rick Rowell
On “General Hospital,” Elizabeth thinks Nikolas, not Lucky, is her baby’s daddy, thanks to some fake paternity test results, courtesy of Nikolas’ evil grandmother, Helena.
The paternity test
What’s up with soap opera vixens always needing a medical test to determine who their baby’s father is? (Not to mention the fact that someone always seems to forge the results!) Likewise, couples drama can result if you’re not honest with your spouse and commit credit infidelity.
Lesson: When it comes to spending, stay faithful and don’t keep secrets.
“To keep your relationship as drama-free as possible, honesty is the No. 1 (financial) policy,” says author and personal finance expert Catey Hill. In other words, before things get serious, you need to know about each other’s financial pasts and discuss future goals.
“Moving forward, I’d recommend making a budget for your household to help you figure out what you each can spend each month,” adds Hill. Also to be discussed: who’s responsible for paying the bills, savings strategies, and whether to merge individual accounts. Most important, take a vow to keep each other in the loop on all major purchases.
