American Express is intrfoducing yet another innovative rewards credit card this month called Blue Sky. The Blue Sky from American Express will take flexibility to an entirely new level. In fact, if you were to say that the sky is the limit on the rewards that can be earned with the Blue Sky Card, it would be a bit of an understatement.

Compare Airline Credit CardsPerhaps you’ve heard of rewards credit cards that allow you to earn points for free airline travel or merchandise. And, then there are the cards that allow you to earn frequent flier miles on a specific airline. Or, for the sake of flexibility, some credit cards allow miles to be applied for free travel on any major airline.

Well, American Express has expanded this latter model beyond free airline travel for those interested in frequent flier credit card rewards. They’ve taken the unusual step of allowing their Sky Blue Cardholders to apply points toward other types of related travel expenses, such as hotels, rental cars and even cruise line tickets. All of this without the normal blackout dates that typically accompany such offers.

As you could expect, Blue Sky from American Express provides world class cardholder fbenefits, like travel accident insurance, lost luggage insurance, buyer’s assistance and purchase return protection. Since American Express started out as a travel-related company, it’s understandable that their travel service philosophy carried over into their products when they largely pioneered the credit card industry.

Other important features of Blue Sky from American Express includes no annual fee, 0% intro APR for six months, and the reward earning rate of one point per dollar in card purchases.

So, if you are interested in travel rewards that provides state of the art flexibility by allowing points to be redeemed for free travel on any airline, rental car or cruise line or toward free stays at any hotel, the Blue Sky Card from American Express may be for you.
