The American Express Blue Card offers a 0 percent introductory APR for 15 months on all purchases and balance transfer rates as low as 4.99 percent for the life of the balance.

Blue charges no annual fee and credit limits up to $100,000. You can choose to pay as you go with Blue or pay over time. It comes with an Internet security chip embedded within the card that enhances online shopping security.

Card members are also automatically enrolled in a free rewards program. Card purchases earn “Blue Points” that can be redeemed for retail, entertainment, travel and merchandise rewards.

Another service available to Blue cardholders is “Blue Play” — an exclusive online auction site that allows cardholders to bid for prizes and experiences using their accumulated points. Prizes include VIP passes to movie premiers and special event packages to sporting events.

In addition, the Blue Music service, offered through American Express’ partnership with Warner Music, provides cardholders with discounts on CDs and music downloads purchased with Blue.

American Express provides a free year-end summary statement that shows how much you’ve spent by merchant category to assist in budgeting and at tax time.
