The Barclaycard Arrival World MasterCard is one of Barclaycard’s offerings within the generic frequent flyer miles category. These cards let you earn miles redeemable on any airline.
How rankings are determined:
We maintain a database that contains rates, fees and terms on hundreds of cards. When evaluating cards, the reviewer compares card terms and features to those of similar cards. On any given attribute, offers are ranked and assigned to quintiles. Cards in the top (best) quintile are rated 5 stars on that attribute. The second quintile receives 4 stars, and so on. If there is not enough distinction between features, all cards may receive the same ranking.
Most cards will compare favorably on some terms and unfavorably on others. Customers are encouraged to determine which feature is most important to them.
Like most cards in this category, this is a fixed-value card, meaning you earn a certain amount of points for every dollar you spend and you can redeem those miles for travel, at a rate of one cent per mile earned.
Given the signup bonus, the travel category bonus and the 10% rebate, there’s plenty of opportunity for consumers to net more than $0.01 in value per dollar of spend (our minimum target in our rankings).
Miles are redeemed in the form of a statement credit for any air ticket to any destination on any airline, with no blackout dates or seat restrictions. Miles may also be redeemed for credits for other travel such as cruises, car rentals and hotels.
When you redeem miles for travel, you get 10% of the redeemed miles back into your account, thus reducing your cost of travel. This feature is unique to this card. For example, you can redeem the 20,000 bonus miles you earned towards travel, and get $200 in statement credit. In addition, you will get 2,000 miles deposited back into your account ($20).

While the Barclaycard Arrival World MasterCard does not let you transfer your miles to any specific airline frequent flier account, it is a good card to get since it lets you earn travel rewards on all your spending without charging you an annual fee. This card is a good choice for people who are not loyal to a specific frequent flyer program.
As of the date of this review, Barclaycard is also offering a version of this card that some consumers may find more appealing: It offers 40,000 bonus miles for the same spend threshold, plus 2x miles on all purchases (rather than travel and dining only, as this card does). However, this card also includes an $89 annual fee, though that’s waived for the first year.
