By Juan Rodriguez and Aundraya Ruse
When it comes to data breaches, credit card numbers remain thieves' favorite digits, according to Javelin Strategy & Research's 2012 Identity Fraud Report. In a survey of 5,000 consumers, 15 percent identified themselves as data breach victims in 2011 -- up from 9 percent in 2010. The data breach victims then reported which numbers were compromised, amd more than four in 10 said credit card numbers. Debit card account numbers came in at 22 percent of breaches and Social Security numbers accounted for 16 percent.
