Survey: Younger couples keep more credit card secrets

By Juan Rodriguez

Younger people may be more financially dishonest, according to September 2012 data from AARP. The organization's Bulletin Survey on Financial Honesty polled more than 1,200 adults nationally, asking about which financial information they hide from their partners and spouses.

While just 3 percent in the 50+ age bracket said they have hidden the amounts of their credit card purchases from their partners in the past 12 months, 10 percent of the 18-to-49 crowd admitted to doing so.
