Your credit card personality: The Veteran

By Erin Peterson

The VeteranYour financial personality: The Veteran

Your traits: You're responsible, organized and rarely get in over your head, financially or otherwise. You know your way around a budget, you've got good credit and you pay your bills on time and in full.

You should consider: Choose a rewards card that gives you a chance to do something you'll really appreciate -- whether it's getting a gift certificate to your favorite restaurant, earning miles for a tropical vacation or even earning cash for your favorite charity. "For these people, the world is their oyster," says Davis. "They just want to make sure that they're really going to enjoy the benefits that a rewards card has to offer."

You should avoid: With a sterling financial record, you probably won't benefit from cards that require annual fees or tout perks such as low interest rates. Though low interest rates won't hurt you (and may help if you get into a financial crunch), you probably won't get much from it over the long haul.
